Morey to Disabled List, Effertz to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Montgomery Biscuits at Bragan Field at 7:05 p.m.
Right-handed relief pitcher Robert Morey has been placed on the disabled list due to right biceps tendinitis. Morey had pitched in five games for the Suns, with no wins or losses and a 4.82 ERA in nine and a third innings on the mound.
In a corresponding move, right-handed relief pitcher Joel Effertz has been added to the Suns roster from Single-A Greensboro. In five games with the Grasshoppers, Effertz had no wins or losses and a 1.93 ERA, with only one walk and eight strikeouts through his nine and a third innings on the mound. Effertz was selected by the Marlins in the 28th round of the 2013 Draft out of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
The Suns roster stands at 25 plus Miami Marlins second baseman Rafael Furcal on his MLB rehab assignment, and a revised roster is attached.
The Suns will welcome the Montgomery Biscuits to town for a five-game series starting tonight night at 7:05 p.m. ET at Bragan Field. Jacksonville will send out right-hander Anthony DeSclafani (3-1, 4.32) to the mound on Thursday night, and he's due to be countered by Biscuits righty Victor Mateo (2-2, 4.43).
