Kickers Travel to Dayton Saturday

RICHMOND, VA - (Wednesday, April 23, 2014) - The Richmond Kickers travel to take on the Dayton Dutch Lions this Saturday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m., broadcast live from Miami Valley Hospital Stadium on YouTube.com. The Kickers return to City Stadium one week later to host the Rochester Rhinos on Friday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. Happy Hour tickets are on sale now at RichmondKickers.com.

Carrying an 8-0-1 series advantage into the weekend, the Kickers take on the Dutch Lions for the first time this season after sweeping the three-game series last year. The two clubs last met in Richmond in the USL PRO Quarterfinals when the Kickers edged Dayton 1-0 to advance to the Semifinals. One week prior, the Kickers handed the Dutch Lions a 5-2 loss at City Stadium after a narrow back-and-forth affair in Dayton saw the Kickers escape with a 3-2 win earlier in the season.

Most recently, the Kickers battled the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to a nail-biting 2-2 draw last weekend. With a two-goal deficit with less than 15 minutes left in regulation, USL PRO Team of the Week honoree, Kyle Porter blasted a 20-yard rocket into the upper 90 to spark a Kickers comeback before the club's all-time leading scorer, Matthew Delicate got on the end of a Samuel Asante cross to bring the score level.

Meanwhile, the Dutch Lions are coming off a 1-0 road win against the Harrisburg City Islanders. On loan from the Dutch Lions MLS Affiliate, Columbus Crew, forward Aaron Schoenfeld tallied the lone goal just before halftime while goalkeeper Matt Williams posted five saves to preserve his second shutout in three games.

Saturday's match marks the first of a two-game series between the Dutch Lions and the Kickers this season, who will swap home field advantage on Saturday, August 16.
