Tuesday's Game in Tacoma Postponed
April 22, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Sacramento River Cats News Release
TACOMA, Wash. - Tonight's 6:05 p.m. game in Tacoma against the Rainiers has been postponed due to rain, and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, July 26, at Cheney Stadium.
This is the second game of this series that has been postponed due to rain. Saturday's series-opener was postponed and made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, April 20. Additionally, Monday's game was cut short due to rain, lasting just seven innings. As a result, the River Cats will have played only 23 innings of baseball in five days when they return home to face the El Paso Chihuahuas on Thursday, April 24, at Raley Field.
The River Cats dropped the first game of Sunday's doubleheader 1-0 in extras, because what should have been a seven-inning contest lasted nine innings. Sacramento won game two of the doubleheader by a score of 8-3 in seven innings, before dropping the rain-shortened series finale 8-5 on Monday.
Thursday's 7:05 p.m. game against the Chihuahuas at Raley Field will be the first meeting between the River Cats and the Pacific Coast League's newest team. The contest opens an eight-game homestand that begins with a four-game set against El Paso from April 24-27, and concludes with a four-game series against these same Tacoma Rainiers from April 28-May 1.
