Sparks Tip-Off 2014 Training Camp on Sunday, April 27

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks today announced its training camp roster in preparation for the team's 2014 training camp that tips-off on Sunday, April 27 at Los Angeles Southwest College.
WNBA MVP Candace Parker and All-Stars Nneka Ogwumike and Kristi Toliver return to lead offseason signees Candice Wiggins, Armintie Herrington, Sandrine Gruda and 2014 draft pick Antonita Slaughter through their first training camp in a Sparks uniform. The Sparks talented roster is also highlighted by the return of Sparks guard Lindsey Harding and veterans Alana Beard and Jantel Lavender.
The Sparks signed eight free agents to training camp contracts including UCLA standout forward Alyssia Brewer, who returns for her second training camp with the Sparks. Joining Brewer as training camp invitees are guard Darxia Morris (UCLA), Brandie Baker (Central Michigan), Alicia DeVaughn (Maryland), Nikki Greene (Penn State), Jackie Nared (Saint Mary's), Keena Mays (Southern Methodist University) and Brittainey Raven (Texas).
The Sparks will open the 2014 WNBA season on the road against the Seattle Storm on Friday, May 16 before tipping-off its home schedule on Sunday, May 18 vs. the Phoenix Mercury at 6 p.m.
