Forward Marc Hagel Returns from American Hockey League

North Charleston, S.C. - Forward Marc Hagel has returned to the South Carolina Stingrays from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL), Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.

Hagel, 25, skated in 21 games with the Stingrays adding 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) prior to his loan to Iowa on December 14. At the time of his departure, the Hamilton, Ontario, native was tied for fifth among ECHL rookies in points, first among rookies in game-winning goals (3), second in power-play markers (4) and third in overall tallies. With the Wild, Hagel netted 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 46 contests.

Last season, Hagel appeared in six games with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) scoring two assists after completing his college season at Miami University (Ohio) picking up 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 42 games. Hagel transferred to the RedHawks after graduating from Princeton University, but dressed only three seasons, taking a medical redshirt his junior year and leaving one year of eligibility. With the Tigers, he totaled 34 points (17 goals, 17 assists) in 92 matchups.
