Blackhawks Recall 13 from IceHogs

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forwards Alex Broadhurst, Terry Broadhurst, Phillip Danault, Ryan Hartman, Drew LeBlanc, Brad Mills, Brandon Mashinter, Mark McNeill and Garret Ross, defensemen Mathieu Brisebois, Adam Clendening and Brian Connelly, along with goaltender Kent Simpson, from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Alex Broadhurst, 21, recorded 45 points (16g, 29a) in 75 games during his first professional season in Rockford. He ranked third on the team in points and assists, and shared fourth in goals. The New Lenox, Ill., native recorded a season-high four points (2g, 2a) on Feb. 9 vs. Utica. Broadhurst was selected by the Blackhawks in the seventh round, 199th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Terry Broadhurst, 25, posted career highs in points (44), goals (16) and assists (28) in 73 games with the IceHogs, ranking fourth on the team in points and sharing fourth in goals and assists. The Orland Park, Ill., native also ranked fifth on the team with a plus-10 rating this season and tallied a career-high two goals on Feb. 28 at Oklahoma City. Broadhurst, who was originally acquired by the Blackhawks as a free agent on March 19, 2012, has 59 points (21g, 38a) in 112 career games over parts of three seasons with Rockford.

Danault, 21, tallied 26 points (6g, 20a) in 72 games during his first full season with the Rockford IceHogs. He shared third on the team with a plus-11 rating and notched six two-point games, including a career-high two goals on Feb. 8 vs. Iowa. The Victoriaville, Quebec, native was Chicago's first-round choice (26th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and tallied 251 points (74g, 177a) in 243 games with Victoriaville and Moncton of the Quebec Major Hockey League from 2009 to 2013.

Hartman, 19, registered seven points (3g, 4a) in nine games this season with Rockford after joining the team on March 30. The West Dundee, Ill., native, tallied 53 points (25g, 28a) in 52 games this season with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League, and posted a team-high four points (4a) in five OHL playoff games. He led the Whalers in assists, while ranking second in goals and points during the regular season. Hartman, Chicago's first-round selection (30th overall) in the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft, recorded 76 points (38g, 38a) in 115 games with the United States National Team Development Program from 2010 to 2012.

LeBlanc, 24, appeared in all 76 of Rockford's games during his first professional season, recording 22 points (7g, 15a) in those contests. The Duluth, Minn., native appeared in two games with the Blackhawks during the 2013-14 campaign, and posted 147 points (42g, 105a) in 171 career games with St. Cloud State University. He captured the 2013 Hobey Baker Memorial Award as the top college hockey player in the nation. LeBlanc signed with Chicago as a free agent on April 12, 2013.

Mashinter, 25, recorded 28 points (14g, 14a) in 47 games this season with Rockford after making his season debut Dec. 7. Prior to being acquired by the Blackhawks on Dec. 6, he appeared in six NHL games this season with the New York Rangers and tallied seven points (1g, 6a) in 11 games with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack. The Bradford, Ontario, native has appeared in 23 career NHL games with New York and San Jose.

McNeill, 21, appeared in all 76 games this season with the IceHogs, posting 37 points (18g, 19a) in those contests. He ranked second on the team in goals and shared the team lead in games played. He scored a season-high three points on Oct. 22 at Hamilton (2g, 1a) and Feb. 4 vs. Hamilton (1g, 2a). The Langley, British Columbia, native was originally chosen by Chicago in the first-round (18th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Mills, 30, registered 14 points (8g, 6a) in 28 games with Rockford, including a four-game point streak (2g, 2a) to start the season from Oct. 5 to Oct 12, which equaled a career high. The Terrance, British Columbia, native has posted two points (1g, 1a) in 34 career NHL games with New Jersey and Chicago, including three games with the Blackhawks this season. He has also recorded 120 points (54g, 66a) in 313 career AHL games with Lowell, Albany and Rockford.

Ross, 21, posted 34 points (15g, 19a) in 74 games with the IceHogs. He ranked seventh on the team in goals and was 10th in points. The Dearborn Heights, Mich., native also skated in two contests with Rockford during the 2012-13 season. He was selected by Chicago in the fifth round, 139th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Clendening, 21, was named to the 2013-14 AHL First All-Star Team after he finished the season ranked second among AHL defensemen and led the IceHogs with 59 points (12g, 47a) in 74 games. He shared second among AHL defensemen in assists and posted a career-high tying three points (3a) vs. Milwaukee. The Niagara Falls, N.Y., native was Chicago's second-round choice (36th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and tallied 59 points (9g, 50a) in 77 games with the Boston University Terriers from 2010 to 2012.

Brisebois, 22, split the season between Rockford and the AHL's Portland Pirates, totaling 10 points (3g, 7a) in 41 games. The Mont Saint-Hillaire, Quebec, native was acquired by the Blackhawks from Phoenix on March 4 and posted seven points (2g, 5a) in 13 games with the IceHogs following the trade.

Connelly, 27, split time this season between the IceHogs and the Iowa Wild of the AHL, earning 40 points (8g, 32a) in 66 games. He tallied eight points (3g, 5a) in 16 games with Rockford. The Bloomington, Minn., native also tallied 126 points (21g, 105a) in 211 games with Rockford from 2008-12. Connelly has compiled 221 points (35g, 186a) in 359 career AHL games with Rockford, Iowa, Houston and Abbotsford. He was acquired by Chicago from Minnesota on Feb. 26.

Simpson, 22, appeared in 31 games with the IceHogs, posting an 11-14-1 record, with a 3.64 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage in those contests. The Edmonton, Alberta, native also appeared in one game with the Blackhawks, turning aside five shots in his NHL debut on Dec. 14 at TOR. Simpson is 12-15-2 in 34 career AHL games with Rockford. He was drafted by Chicago in the second round, 58th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
