April 20, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas lost a mid-game lead and fell to the Las Vegas 51s 11-4 on Sunday at Cashman Field. A half-inning after Reymond Fuentes' three-run triple gave El Paso a 3-1 advantage, Las Vegas exploded for six runs in a nine-batter bottom of the fifth. The rally included a home run by Bobby Abreu, his first Triple-A homer since 1997.

Keyvius Sampson pitched four innings in his fourth El Paso start and allowed only one earned run. The Chihuahuas had nine hits in the loss, including two each from Rico Noel, Fuentes, Kyle Blanks and Cody Decker. Blanks hit a solo home run in the eighth, his team-leading fifth longball of the season.

In the eighth inning, Jeff Francoeur made his first professional pitching appearance and tossed a 1-2-3 inning before tipping his cap to the cheering Las Vegas fans. In the same inning, El Paso reliever Tony Sipp made his professional outfield debut, entering the game to play left field.

Las Vegas (Mets' Triple-A affiliate) now has the best record in the Pacific Coast League.
