Colorado Ice Take the Conference Lead with 69-42 Win over the Texas Revolution

Fort Collins, Colo. - The Colorado Ice win their fourth straight game beating the Texas Revolution 69-42 and taking top spot in the Intense Conference.

Ice quarterback Willie Copeland (13) had his best game of the season so far with 223 yards, seven touchdowns. Six of those in the first half alone. Copeland's key redzone receiver Kyle Kaiser (8) had three touchdowns and 62 yards. Kaiser now leads the league with 12 touchdowns this season. Jasonus Tillery (88) was the Ice's yardage leader with 67 yards and two touchdowns.

Overall the Ice was more effective with their possessions. Colorado scored on 12 of their 15 possessions while Texas had roughly 10 more minutes of possession but was only able to convert on one of seven third downs.

The Colorado Ice continue to dominate in their first halfs considering they have scored at least five touchdowns in the first half in the past three games including this win. They scored six out of their seven possessions in this game.

Runza Player of the Game Dequinta Jones (91) had the best all-around game on defense. He had two solo tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and one broken up pass. Jason Jones (54) provided the most trouble for the Revolution offense having three sacks. Joe Thornton (1) also had an interception in the Revolution redzone which he returned for a 51-yard touchdown. Malcolm Williams (24) also had an interception in the last seconds of the first half.

In the second half they had defensive back Deante Purvis (6) in as running back spot with a rushing touchdown. This was after he had a fumble recovery and four tackles in the game, seven total tackles. Recently signed receiver James Davis Jr (17) had one touchdown and 13 yards. Backup quarterback Jake Johnson (10) was also able to provide relief in the fourth quarter after Copeland left the game.

The Ice travel to Washington State to take on the Tri-Cities Fever April 26. The Ice's next home game is at 6:00pm, May 10 against the Texas Revolution.
