Bridgeport Islanders News Release

HARTFORD, CT - Kevin Poulin stopped 36-of-37 shots faced, but his lone blemish proved costly as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers fell 2-0 to the Hartford Wolf Pack in the final game of the 2013-14 season. With the loss, the Sound Tigers finished the campaign with a 28-40-2-6 record and posted a 5-7-0-0 record against their in-state rivals.

Ryan Bourque opened the scoring for Hartford, blasting a power play goal past Poulin 6:35 into the first period. Poulin stopped nine shots in the back-and-forth opening frame.

The Wolfpack pressed hard in the second period, firing 11 shots on goal, but Poulin had all the answers and kept the score 1-0. Chris Bruton tried to spark the Sound Tigers by dropping the gloves with Hartford's Dylan McIlrath with just over six minutes left in the period, but the Sound Tigers could not solve Wolf Pack goalie Dov Grumet-Morris.

Hartford unleashed 17 more shots in the third period and TJ Hensick sealed the game with an empty net goal with 33 seconds to play. Grumet-Morris stopped all 20 shots fired his way to record his first shutout of the season.
