 Salt Lake Bees

Isotopes in Town for Four

April 19, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees (5-11) return home tonight to take on the Albuquerque Isotopes (9-6) in a four-game series running through Tuesday. After starting the season 4-2, the Bees dropped nine in a row before taking game two of a double header against the Tacoma Rainiers last night.

This past week, the Bees lost Brennan Boesch, Josh Wall and Yoslan Herrera to the Angles, but were optioned three players in return from Double-A Arkansas: pitchers Mike Morin and Michael Brady and utility man Shawn O'Malley. O'Malley is 2-5 in his first two games in a Bees uniform, while Mike Morin has tallied one loss.

Tenth in the league with a .382 batting average, Efren Navarro looks to extend his 14-game hit streak, while C.J. Cron continues to be a powerhouse at the plate for the Bees. Cron leads the PCL with nine doubles and is tied for fifth in the league with 14 RBIs. Grant Green ranks 11th in the PCL in batting with a .379 average.

The Bees will next see the Isotopes in Albuquerque in a four-game series beginning April 28. The two teams will play each other one more time in New Mexico for a total of 12 games this season.

Salt Lake and Albuquerque went head-to-head in just one series in 2013 with the Bees taking three of four.

The weekend matchup kicks off with a Salt Lake 20th Anniversary give-away poster on April 19. Tickets can be purchased at Smith's Ballpark Box Office, slbees.com or at any SmithTix locations.
