Reign Drop Game 1 in Stockton, 3-1

April 19, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL) - Ontario Reign News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (0-1-0), four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, dropped the first game of a best-of-seven series to the Stockton Thunder (1-0-0) by a final score of 3-1 on Friday night in Stockton.

Jeremy Langlois was the first to score in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a backhanded shot past the right pad of J.P. Anderson exactly four minutes into play. His would be the only tally in the first period.

The second period began the same way as the first with an early Stockton goal past the pads of Anderson. This shot was a wrister off the stick of Joey Martin at 4:15. At the 15:52 mark, Reign defenseman Kyle Bigos lit the lamp with a shot through traffic from the high slot for his first professional postseason goal. Jonathan Parker earned the lone assist in his first game back since March 26. While on their third power play of the night, Ryan Hayes converted the man-advantage for Stockton with a topshelf shot clean past Anderson's glove at 12:18 in the final frame.

Anderson took the loss in his playoff debut with 36 saves; Brian Foster earned the win with 26 stops.
