Thunder Add Quine to Playoff Roster
April 18, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL) - Stockton Thunder News Release
Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have added forward Alan Quine to their 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs roster, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced Thursday.
Quine, 21, returns to the Thunder after playing seven games with the team in the regular season. The Ottawa, Ontario native had 8 points on 2 goals and 6 assists in the ECHL, registering at least one point in every contest but one. With the addition of Quine the Thunder have finalized their playoff roster, which can have a maximum of 23 players on it. Coach Kromm named 20 players to the roster on Monday and added two more names to the list on Wednesday.
Quine played the majority of this season in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He had 27 points in 61 games for Bridgeport in his first full professional season. Quine was drafted by the New York Islanders in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and signed to an entry-level deal. The 5'11" forward was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 2011 but did not sign with the team.
The Stockton Thunder open up their defense of the Western Conference Championship title against the Ontario Reign in the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Game one of the series will be at Stockton Arena tonight at 7:30 p.m. The first 2,500 fans entering Stockton Arena will receive a Garet Hunt trading card.
Special playoff ticket packages are available through the Stockton Thunder front office by calling 209-373-1500. Fans can get tickets to the first round of the playoffs for free with the renewal or purchase of a Thunder Mini-Plan, or get tickets to all the Thunder's 2014 playoff games for free with the purchase of a new season ticket.
