Comeback Bid Falls Short in 11-7 Loss to Mobile

Birmingham, AL - The Barons dropped game four of their five game series against the Mobile BayBears by a score of 11-7 in front of 1,764 fans at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Starter Scott Snodgress (0-2, 10.50) got off to a rough start, allowing four runs in the first, highlighted by a three-run homer by Jon Griffin.
The Barons fought their way back to within a run in the fifth, getting a solo home run by Josh Richmond and an RBI single by Gordon Beckham in the second and an RBI double by Chris Curley in the fifth. The double was Curley's league-leading seventh of the season.
However, the BayBears would put the game away with three runs in the bottom half of the inning and four more in the seventh to win their second-straight over the Barons.
Micah Johnson and Kevan Smith finished with three hits apiece as the Barons fell to 7-7 on the season while Mobile improved to 8-6. The Barons will look to pick up a series win tomorrow as RHP Terry Doyle (1-1, 5.23) takes the hill againstBryan Woodall (0-0, 2.53). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM CDT.
