Solar Bears Drop Playoff Opener to Cincinnati

Orlando, FL - The Cincinnati Cyclones won the opener of the Best of Seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Series by a score of 4-2. The Solar Bears outshot Cincinnati 36-26, but Cyclones' goaltender Rob Madore made 34 saves.
F Wade Megan scored twice for Cincinnati including the first goal of the game at 5:33 of the first period. F Taylor Matson tied the game less than a minute and a half later.
The Solar Bears took the lead when F Wade MacLeod scored at 14:53 of the first. But Cincinnati tied it up with Megan's second goal of the game, a power play goal at 16:43.
Despite outshooting Cincinnati in the second period 18-4, Cyclones forward Brett Wyospal scored at 16:11 of that period.
Cincinnati and Orlando played a hard fought third period, but Cincinnati scored at 16:07 of the third (Trevor Lewis). Madore staved off a Solar Bears attack, when Orlando pulled the goaltender with 2:02 left in the third for the extra skater.
The two teams will meet again on Sunday at 7:00 pm at the Amway Center.
