The Solar Bears (43-24-2-3 91 points, 4th in the Eastern Conference) and Cincinnati Cyclones (41-23-4-4 90 points), 5th in the Eastern Conference) begin their best of seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Series, presented by Walgreens tonight at the Amway Center. The Solar Bears enter the Series with a 3-0-0-1 streak to conclude the regular season. Cincinnati finished the 2013-14 regular season 2-2 in their last four games. The teams only played two games head to head, trading victories on each other's home ice (on November 13th the Solar Bears defeated the Cyclones 4-2 and Cincinnati turned the tables at the Amway Center on March 26th, defeating Orlando 5-1.

This is Orlando's first appearance in the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs...F Mickey Lang led the ECHL with 44 goals this season and finished third in scoring with 77 points... The last player to eclipse the 40 goal mark in the ECHL was Wes Goldie (Alaska Aces) during the 2010-11 season (46 goals). Lang was named to the All-ECHL First Team... G Maxime Clermont is 3-0-1 in his last four games...The Solar Bears have collected a 14-2-3 record on home ice since the start of January...The Solar Bears are 25-8-1-0 when scoring the first goal of the game...On Thursday's, Orlando has posted a 8-1-1-0 record...G Cody Reichard has returned from Iowa (AHL) where he posted a 1-1 record (a shootout win) with a 3.36 GAA and save percentage of .913...For Orlando, Reichard has accumulated a 13-4-1 record (3.18 GAA and a .903 SV%)...D Blake Kessel has returned from Rochester (AHL) where he had two assists in 11 games and nine penalty minutes... Christopher Gibson, G Garret Sparks are in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies... F Trevor Gillies is in the AHL with Abbotsford Heat... G Tyler Beskorowany is in the AHL with the St. John's IceCaps... F Andrew Johnston is in the AHL with the Adirondack Phantoms..

Game 2 on Sunday at Amway Center - Special Start Time: The Solar Bears vs. Cincinnati Kelly Cup Playoff Series continues on Sunday at 7pm at the Amway Center. The Series then travels North to Cincinnati for a Game 3 on Wednesday, 4/23 at 7:35pm; Game 4 on Friday, 7:35pm and, if necessary, Game 5 on Saturday at 7:35pm. If the Series goes longer, Games 6 and 7 at Amway Center on Tuesday, April 29th and Wednesday, April 30th. Both games would be played at 7pm.

Cyclones Notes:

Cincinnati has won the Kelly Cup title in 2007-08 and 2009-10...They advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals last year...Cyclones Coach Ben Simon went 41-23-8 in first season as the Cyclones coach. Simon was a member of the 2001 Orlando Solar Bears Kelly Cup team...The Cyclones were extremely tough to beat away from U.S. Bank Arena this season. Their 24-9-1-2 road record garnered the most road points of any team in the ECHL...San Antonio (AHL) has reassigned forward Wade Megan, F Trevor Lewis, and F Logan Shaw to Cincinnati...The Cyclones were 29-6-2-2 when scoring first during the regular season.
