GAME 3 - EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS / $1 BEERS

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After one of the tightest finishes to a regular season in ECHL history, the #5 seeded Cyclones will open up the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs tonight as they battle the #4 Orlando Solar Bears in the first of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The teams split a pair of regular season meetings, with the road team claiming victory in each.

SCOUTING THE SOLAR BEARS: Vince Williams' club is headed to the postseason for the first time since joining the ECHL last year. Having posted a 43-24-2-3 regular season record, the Solar Bears narrowly captured the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference standings and second place in the South Division. Mickey Lang led Orlando with 76 points (44g, 32a) this year along with a team-leading seven game-winning goals. Jacob Cepis was also a regular offensive contributor, accruing 56 points (20g, 36a) in 48 tilts during 2013-14. New Jersey Devils draft pick Maxime Clermont started nine of the Solar Bears final ten regular season games and compiled an overall record of 11-12-0-2 with a 3.35 goals-against average. Fellow net minder Cody Reichard has returned from a late season stint with the Iowa Wild. Between his time in Fort Wayne and Orlando, the Miami RedHawks alum has gone 15-8-3-3 with a 3.24 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: MARCH 16, 2014: Barry Almeida scored twice while Taylor Aronson and Josh Birkholz each notched a pair of points as the Cyclones throttled the Solar Bears by a 5-1 final score in front of 6,601 at Amway Center.

At Home on the Road: The Cyclones were extremely tough to beat away from U.S. Bank Arena this season. Their 24-9-1-2 road record garnered the most points of any team in the ECHL. It turned out to be the second best "road" season since the 2007-08 campaign - and the second best in club history.

AHL Reinforcements: With the San Antonio Rampage out of postseason contention, they have reassigned forward Wade Megan, Trevor Lewis, and Logan Shaw to Cincinnati. Between the three of them, they compiled a total of 68 points.
