Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Green Bay, WI - The Green Bay Blizzard are proud to announce that the team has signed former New York Jets Defensive Lineman Junior Aumavae.

Aumavae, who was a member of the Blizzard in 2012, signed with the NFL's New York Jets in March 2013. Aumavae (6'3,310) was named to the Jets' practice squad following training camp and has also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys during his NFL career. Junior accumulated five tackles and two tackles for loss during his time with the Jets.

During his time with the Blizzard, Aumavae was a disruptive force along the team's defensive line as he accumulated 38 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two pass breakups. He will look to plug a Blizzard defense that has allowed a league-worst 617 rushing yards on the season.

"We are very excited for Junior to join the team this season. We greatly value his football experience, knowledge and veteran leadership. I look forward to seeing him be a great contribution to our defense," said Blizzard Head Coach Tommie Williams.

Prior to signing with the Blizzard, Aumavae played at Minnesota State-Mankato where he was named to the All-Conference and All-Region teams. He was also named NSIC Newcomer of the Year during his senior season.

The Blizzard return home to Aurora BayCare Field at the Resch Center to play the Tri-Cities Fever on April 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM. April 19 will be Youth Receiver Glove Night and Giant Team Poster Night. The first 600 youth 10 and under will receive a free pair of youth receiver gloves and every youth 14 and under will receive a giant team poster.
