Burlington Bees News Release

Burlington-IA - The Burlington Bees (6- 5) suffered their largest defeat of the 2014 season falling to the Fort Wayne Tin Caps (4- 7) 13- 3 in game two of a three game series.

Fort Wayne struck first on Tuesday scoring four runs off Bees' starting pitcher Elliott Morris in the second inning. Ryan Miller capped off the inning with a two run double as the Bees fell behind 4- 0 after two.

The Bees tried to chip away in the third scoring a run on an RBI groundout by Erick Salcedo making the score 4- 1.

That would be the closest the Bees would get however as Fort Wayne continued their offensive onslaught scoring twice in the third off a two run homer from Fernando Perez. Perez went on to drive in five of Fort Wayne's 13 runs.

Fort Wayne went on to score three in the fourth and four more in the sixth on their way to the victory. Angel Rosa went 2- for- 4 in the loss driving in a run.

Tin Caps' starter Walker Weikel 1- 2 picked up the win while Bees' starter Elliot Morris 1- 1 was charged with the loss.

The Bees' wrap up their three game series with Fort Wayne tomorrow morning at 10:05 AM central time. Ryan Etsell will make the start for the Bees while Payton Baskette toes the rubber for Fort Wayne.
