Two-Time NCAA Division I All-Star Joins Reign

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced the addition of defenseman Nick Jones and the release of forward Dylan Hood.
Jones, 23, will make his ECHL debut with the Reign after appearing in two games with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL on an amateur tryout agreement.
He finished a four year collegiate career with the Division I Mercyhurst University (AHA) Lakers. Jones, a Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania native, finished the season with a career-high 33 points (10g, 23a), was named AHA's Defenseman of the Year, and was a co-recipient of the league's Sportsman of the Year award. Jones was named to the league's First All-Star team for the second straight season.
In 156 games with Mercyhurst, Jones recorded 93 points (32g, 61a) and was the top scoring defenseman for the past three seasons. He received Third Team honors his Sophomore year.
Hood, 23, played in 23 games with the Reign and earned five points (2g, 3a). The center was acquired in a trade with Colorado where he spent most of this season, and all of the 2012-13 season. He missed the last two games of the regular season before being released.
Reign Drops:
The Reign will begin the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs in Stockton on Friday, Apr. 18 and Saturday, Apr. 19 in Stockton.
