Today's Game: The RedHawks meet the Zephyrs in a 2:05 p.m. matinee at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The teams split the first two games of their current series in Bricktown, as they continue a stretch of eight straight games against one another.

Last Game: The RedHawks used a dominant offensive performance to beat New Orleans, 12-1, Saturday for their first home win of the season. The RedHawks built a 5-0 lead through four innings, then added seven runs in the eighth. Carlos Perez homered to left-center field to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning for OKC. Jonathan Meyer followed with a double, then scored on a double by Ronny Torreyes. Jon Singleton added a bases-clearing double to add three more runs. A RBI triple by Eric Castro and a RBI double by Domingo Santana followed. RedHawks starting pitcher Jake Buchanan (1-1) earned the win, allowing three hits and striking out five through five shutout innings. He did not allow a walk.

Today's Probable Pitchers: Nick Tropeano is scheduled to make his second start of the season and his Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark debut...In his last outing Wednesday in New Orleans, Tropeano earned his first win of the season, allowing one hit, walking one and striking out one in three scoreless innings as the game's piggyback starter...He had a tough Triple-A debut April 5 in Round Rock, picking up the loss in his first start. He allowed four runs and five hits over 3.1 innings. Tropeano walked four and struck out four...He spent the entire 2013 season with Double-A Corpus Christi, where he went 7-10 with a 4.11 ERA over 28 games (20 starts). He led the Texas League with 130 strikeouts and paced his team in starts and innings (133.2)...He split 2012 between Low-A Lexington and High-A Lancaster, leading all Astros farmhands with a 3.02 ERA and 166 strikeouts...The Astros drafted Tropeano in the fifth round in 2011 from Stony Brook University.

Collin McHugh makes his third appearance of 2014 for OKC as today's piggyback starter...He started Wednesday in New Orleans, allowing five hits, two runs, walking two and striking out three over four innings in a no decision...In his team debut in Round Rock April 5, McHugh entered the game in the sixth inning and threw three frames, allowing two hits, three runs, issuing three walks and striking out two...McHugh appeared in at least two games with five different teams within two organizations last season...He spent the majority of 2013 in Triple-A with Las Vegas and Colorado Springs going a combined 5-4 with a 3.69 ERA in the PCL. He began the season in the Mets organization and was traded to Colorado on June 19 for outfielder Eric Young, Jr....He also made seven Major League appearances, including five starts, for Colorado and the New York Mets, going 0-4 with a 10.04 ERA...The Astros claimed McHugh off waivers on Dec. 18, 2013 from Colorado.

Against the Zephyrs: 2014: 5-1 2013: 8-8 All-time: 137-122 At OKC: 74-56

The Zephyrs have won five of their last seven games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark dating back to last season...Earlier this week in New Orleans, the RedHwaks earned their first series sweep at Zephyr Field since July 20-23, 2009. OKC outscored the Zephyrs 25-9 in the series...This will be the only time this season the RedHawks will play back-to-back series against the same opponent. Each of the previous three times this occurred on OKC's schedule, it was also against the Zephyrs...The RedHawks and Zephyrs split their previous two season series, going 8-8 against each other in 2013 and 2012.

On the Offensive: The RedHawks set season highs with both 12 runs and 17 hits last night. They recorded 10 extra-base hits, which is their largest total since also notching 10 on May 17, 2012 at Reno. Their seven doubles were the most since June 22, 2013 vs. Omaha, and Domingo Santana's three doubles were the most by an individual since Jimmy Paredes hit three in that same game against the Storm Chasers.

Petit's Recent Push: Gregorio Petit is 11-for-20 (.550) over the last five games and leads the team lead with 15 hits. He's on an eight-game hitting streak overall and has notched five straight multi-hit games for the first time in his career since May 13-17, 2007 while he was playing for Double-A Midland (part of a 12-game hitting streak).

Singleton's Surge: Jon Singleton drove in four runs last night and has collected at least one RBI in six of his last seven games. His 13 RBI paces the RedHawks and is tied for second in the PCL.

Muscling Up: Carlos Perez hit his second home run of the season last night, matching his entire output from last year with the RedHawks (75 G/296 PA). His eighth-inning dinger was the first of his career at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark (149 PA).

Dinger Details: The RedHawks have hit a home run in eight straight games for the first time since May 30-June 7, 2012. Today they will attempt to make it nine straight for the first time since July, 2010. Last season they never hit a home run in more than four straight games. OKC has 11 home runs through the first 10 games of the season, a total that is currently tied for second in the league.

Mound Meritocracy: One night after allowing season highs in both runs (8) and hits (13), the Redhawks pitching staff rebounded to hold the Zephyrs to one run and six hits yesterday. Over the past seven games, they have held opponents to two or fewer runs five times. Last night was the first time they did not allow an extra-base hit, and their .219 opponent batting average this season leads the PCL by 22 points (Tacoma - .241).

Crazy Eighths: In two of the past three games, the RedHawks have turned in a six-run eighth inning and a seven-run eighth inning. Their single-highest scoring inning last year was a 10-run eighth in Fresno on May 21.
