Kyle Roller Added to Roster; INF Wilson to Staten Island

April 13, 2014 - Eastern League (EL) Trenton Thunder

The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced a roster move prior to Sunday's game against the Erie SeaWolves.

INF Kyle Roller, 26, has been transferred to Trenton's active, 25-man roster from Short Season-A Staten Island's roster. The left-handed hitting first baseman has not yet appeared in a game with the Thunder this season after playing in 124 games last season exclusively in Trenton.

Last season, Roller led the Thunder in HR (17), RBI (69) and slugging percentage (.427) in 94 games at 1B and 30 games as DH. Since 2011, Roller has averaged 17 homeruns and 70 RBI in 118 games per season. The ECU product was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 8th round of the 2010 MLB Entry-Level Player Draft.

To make room for Roller, INF Zach Wilson was transferred to Short Season-A Staten Island.
