Rome Emperors News Release

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves and Savannah Sand Gnats went at it again on Saturday night at State Mutual Stadium with the Sand Gnats emerging victorious by a score of 4-3. It's their third straight win over the Braves. Savannah jumped on the board with one run in the top of the first by way of a Jared King sacrifice fly. In the fifth inning Savannah made it a 3-0 game on RBI singles by Jeff McNeil and L.J. Mazzilli. The Braves bounced back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Blake Brown and Jose Morel reached base on a single and a double, respectively and Cody Livesay grounded out to plate Brown. A double off the bat of Mikey Reynolds sent Morel home for the 3-2 score. Victor Caratini later singled home the tying run to knot the game at three a piece. In the eighth it was a solo shot by Colton Plaia giving the Gnats the lead for good as the Savannah bullpen shut down the Braves for their final two at bats.

John Michael Gant (2-0) picks up his second win while Richard Tate (1-1) gets the loss.

The Braves take on Savannah again tomorrow at 2 p.m. For information on upcoming events at State Mutual Stadium contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
