Game 5 Notes:

Bouncing Back: Friday night in Denver, the Oilers controlled Game 4 from start to finish and rolled to a 6-2 victory over the Cutthroats to even the first round series at 2-2. Tulsa recorded six goals from six different players and nine of the Oilers ten forwards registered at least one point. Matthew Larke led the Oilers offensive onslaught with a goal and three assists while goaltender Shane Madolora turned aside 35 shots to hold off the Cutthroats' attack. The Oilers had scored three first period goals in the first three games combined but erupted for four goals in the first period of Game 4. The win extends the series to at least six games and guarantees the Oilers another home game at the BOK Center.

Goals Galore: With six pucks finding their way into the net in Game 4, the Oilers recorded their highest goal total in a playoff game since April 1, 2005 in a 7-3 win over the Colorado Eagles in a first round series.

Striking First: In Game 4, for the first time in the series, the Oilers scored the first goal of the game. Tulsa also held first and second intermission leads for the first time in the four games and led for 56 of the 60 minutes after being out front for a total of 4:58 through the first three contests.

Larke Comes Alive: Tulsa winger Matthew Larke (1 goal, 3 assists) became the first Oiler to record four points in a playoff game since Chad Costello chipped in two goals and two assists in a 5-2 victory over the Mississippi Riverkings on April 1, 2011.

First Timers: Five of the six Oilers goal-scorers in Game 4 - Ryan Cramer, Drew Fisher, Kyle Bochek, Matthew Larke, and Michel Beausoleil - tallied their first goals of the series. Cramer and Fisher, who scored 20 seconds apart in the first period, earned their first career postseason goals.

Slump Busted: After going 0-for-13 on the power play in the first three games of the series, the Oilers broke through with a power play goal in Game 4. Nathan Lutz' blast from the blue line was tipped into the net by Adam Pleskach at 18:09 of the first period and the Oilers became the last team in the CHL playoffs to record a goal with the man-advantage.

Spreading The Wealth: Through four games of the series against Denver, nine of the 11 forwards on the Oilers playoff roster have registered at least one goal. Fifteen of the Oilers 17 skaters have notched at least one point with Ben Gordon, Ryan Menei, and Adam Pleskach tied for the team lead with five points apiece.

PK Success: The Oilers successfully eliminated all seven Cutthroats' power plays in Game 4. Tulsa's penalty kill has shutout the Denver power play in three of the four games in the series.

Oil Drops: Shane Madolora's 35-save performance in Game 4 dropped his playoff goals against average from 3.14 to 2.85...Michel Beausoleil has seven goals in 14 playoff games as an Oiler...Tulsa is 3-4 all-time in best-of-seven playoff series and has not won a best-of-seven series since defeating the Oklahoma City Blazers in the 1994 CHL semi-finals.
