Grand Kemp Leads Way to Sweep of Giants

LANCASTER, Calif. - Tony Kemp launched a grand slam in a six-run sixth inning to help the JetHawks to 9-4 win and a sweep over the San Jose Giants on Wednesday night at The Hangar.
Kemp's grand slam broke the game open and gave him a total of six RBIs on the night.
Teoscar Hernandez immediately followed with a home run to punctuate the JetHawks biggest offensive inning of the season.
Kemp was responsible for Lancaster's first run in the third inning. Carlos Perdomo tripled with one out and scored on a Kemp sacrifice-fly.
The Giants took the lead in the fourth inning when Mitch Delfino hit a two-run homer off starter Chris Devenski. The pair of runs was all that came across against Devenski (1-1). The right-hander struck out four over five innings without issuing a walk to pick up the win.
Lancaster rallied for two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. Kemp picked up another run with a fielder's choice grounder to tie the game and then scored on Hernandez's third triple of the season.
Kemp finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Hernandez added a walk and two RBIs to his 2-for-4 night.
Josh Hader tossed the final four innings to pick up the save. He struck out four without walking a batter and allowed two runs with two outs in the top of the ninth when Delfino hit his second two-run homer of the game.
The JetHawks (5-2) finished their season opening homestand on a four-game winning streak and head to Lake Elsinore to begin their first road trip of the season on Thursday night. Mike Hauschild and Mark Appel will start against the Storm's Colin Rea at The Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
