Boston Bruins Recall Ryan Spooner from Providence on An Emergency Basis

Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, April 9, that the team has recalled forward Ryan Spooner from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis. Spooner will join the club in Winnipeg and will be eligible for Thursday night's game against the Jets.

Spooner has appeared in 22 games with Boston this season, racking up 11 assists. In total, the forward has played in 26 NHL games for Boston (2012-14).

In 45 games for Providence this season, Spooner has tallied 11 goals and 34 assists (second on the team) for 45 points (fourth on the team) with a plus-13 rating (third on the team).

In total, the 21-year-old pivot has skated in 112 AHL games with Providence from 2010 to 2014, accruing 31 goals and 78 assists for 109 points. Spooner was named the to 2014 AHL All-Star team on January 9, 2014.

The 5'10'', 180-pound native of Kanata, Ontario was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the second round (45th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
