Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth returns to HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center for the final time in the regular season as it takes on the undefeated Edmonton Rush on 'Fan Appreciation Night' this Fri., Apr. 11th at 7pm MT. This past Saturday, the Mammoth dropped a 12-11 decision to a Rush team that is 5-0 this season in one-goal affairs.

"We want to play every game in the same way whether [our opponent is] 0-14 or 14-0," said Colorado transition player Cameron Holding. "As a defense and as a team, we want to make sure we continue to play every game like it's a championship. I don't think we've thought about [playing an undefeated team] too much but it's just another game where we're out there and we want to win."

Colorado will look to build upon the defensive success it enjoyed in the last meeting, holding Edmonton scoreless for more than 24 minutes in the second half. The Mammoth defense forced Rush leading scorer Mark Matthews to commit a career-high nine turnovers as he put up just three points (1g, 2a).

"I have to say it goes with the way the boys are buying in back there," said interim coach Chris Gill. "We're just playing a patient game and letting it come to us, and we're not trying to do too much. I think for a guy like Matthews, who's so effective with the ball and the offense all orchestrates around him, the defense just stepped up to the challenge. We look forward to them doing it again!"

The Mammoth's 11 tallies on Saturday marked the second time this season that it has scored double-digit goals against the Rush. Only two other teams have reached 10 or more goals in a game this season against the NLL's stingiest defense.

'Fan Appreciation Night' includes performances by Lola Black (postgame) and Aspen Hourglass (pregame). The concerts are free for all fans in attendance.

Tickets to the game are on sale now at the Pepsi Center Box Office, all Altitude Tickets outlets, online at AltitudeTickets.com, or by phone at 866.461.6556.
