Erie BayHawks News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, April 9 - The Erie BayHawks finished their 2013-14 season on Saturday. Despite a final regular season record of 16-34, the BayHawks organization achieved numerous milestones this year including several new records:

Attendance : The BayHawks set a franchise record for attendance attracting an average of 3,460 fans per home game. The average crowd grew by eight percent over the previous season and 17% over a two-year span. Erie's attendance mark ranked the team fourth in the NBA Development League this season.

Largest Crowds : The BayHawks hosted their two largest crowds in team history on February 22 (6,450) and March 1 (5,834) and added another sell-out on March 29 (5,513). These three sellout dates also ranked as three of the four largest crowds in team history.

Points Scored : The BayHawks shattered franchise records for points scored in a game when they defeated the Delaware 87ers 158-122 on March 28, besting their previous mark of 138. Their point total registered as the second highest output in League history. Erie set the league standard with 66 field goals made in the game and also recorded franchise records for assists (43), field goal percentage (62.3%) and total rebounds (61).

Assists Records : Lewis Jackson broke Will Conroy's D-League record for consecutive games with at least 10 assists. He recorded his 13th straight game with that total on March 14 against the Springfield Armor. Jackson also finished with a franchise record of assists in one season (321), surpassing Cedric Jackson's total of 252 during the 2009-10 season. He also led the D-League with 8.9 assists per game this season. On April 2 Jackson dished out a franchise best 18 assists versus the LA D-fenders, breaking his own mark he set earlier in the season on March 1 when he tallied 17 assists against the Sioux Falls Skyforce, (surpassing Cliff Clinkscales' previous 16 assist effort during the 2009-10 season).

3-Point Records : Erie's Scott Suggs set a franchise record for three-pointers attempted and three-pointers made in a season. On February 19, Suggs buried a team single-game record eight three pointers in Erie's win over the Texas Legends.

NBA Experience : This season's team featured the most NBA talent that has ever donned BayHawks uniforms in a single season. Ricky Davis (13 NBA seasons), Solomon Jones (eight NBA seasons), Mustafa Shakur, Sean Singletary, Jeremy Tyler and Chris Smith all brought previous NBA experience to the team.

NBA Draft Eligible : For the first time in team history, the BayHawks had a player who was not yet eligible for an NBA call-up in Cleveland Melvin. Melvin will be eligible for this year's NBA Draft.

Other Notables : Jeremy Tyler was signed by the New York Knicks on December 31, becoming the 11th player in BayHawks history to receive an NBA call-up. The Knicks assigned four different players to Erie's roster this season, starting with Smith's assignment on November 18. The Knicks also assigned Cole Aldrich, Toure' Murry and Tyler to the BayHawks as practice participants on January 29. Murry was re-assigned to play with Erie when the team faced Springfield on January 31.

Giving Back : The BayHawks organization donated over $21,000 to local organizations during the past season. Funds were generated via various means including ticket fundraising programs, game-worn uniform auctions and the team's "non-profit of the game" program.
