Chesapeake BayHawks Announce Partnership with Righttime Medical Care

April 9, 2014 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) - Chesapeake Bayhawks News Release

ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Chesapeake Bayhawks announced today that they have partnered with Righttime Medical Care (Righttime) again for the 2014 season. Righttime is the "Preferred Urgent Care Provider of the Chesapeake Bayhawks."

The partnership between the Bayhawks and Righttime began in 2010 as Righttime recognized the need to provide medical care and education for local student-athletes and their families regarding concussions. Righttime's program, HeadFirst Sports Injury and Concussion Care, provides a community model for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of mild traumatic brain injuries. As concussions have been a growing issue in sports, the mission to educate, evaluate and treat these injuries has never been so important.

"We are honored to sponsor the Chesapeake Bayhawks again this year, as we share the same values and support the same families in our community," said Robert G. Graw, Jr., M.D., Chief Executive Officer of Righttime Medical Care. "We're inspired by the tremendous team spirit the Bayhawks bring to their fans, and look forward to being part of another winning season."

As part of the sponsorship, Righttime will host the "Bayhawks Play of the Game" during all regular season home games which will feature game replays on the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium's jumbotron screen. Additionally, Righttime and HeadFirst will host a YouTube contest featuring a Bayhawks professional player to promote concussion awareness and the importance of protection against brain injury. The contest winner will receive on-field recognition at a Bayhawks home game this season.

Righttime's 45-foot Mobile Care Center will continue to be at all Bayhawks home games this season, providing information on concussion prevention and prizes for fans in the kid's tailgate zone. The Mobile Care Center will also make appearances at this season's various camps, tournaments and clinics hosted by the Bayhawks.

Dr. Graw and Chesapeake Bayhawks owner, Brendan Kelly, both have common goals in helping the community. When two successful business leaders come together, it's an easy partnership to make," said Bayhawks coach, Dave Cottle. "The collaboration with Righttime and Headfirst has been great for the Bayhawks and we are excited to continue working together with them."
