River Monsters Continue CIFL Playoff Push with 70-22 Victory

In a little over a month the Northern Kentucky River Monsters have went from being left for dead, to controlling their own destiny in there drive for the 2014 CIFL Playoffs. The River Monsters have won 3 straight games to raise their record to 5-3 with a resounding 70-22 Thrashing of the Xtreme.

The River Monster's new QB #10 Antonio Davis threw 6 TD Passes for 236yds on 11-18 passing. His main Targets were wide receivers Willie Idlette 3 rec for 67yds and 3 TDs, Ricardo Lenhart 4 rec for 73yds, Shawn McGarity 2 rec 26 Yds and 1 TD, Aric Evans 1 rec 45 Yds and a TD, and talented newcomer Clay Cunningham who made his 1 Reception count for a 26 Td TD. RB Maurice Douse Returned to the Lineup with 3 Rushing TD's. River Monster Offensive Line of Frank Straub, Bob Beeler and T.J. Gholston were once again dominating.

As always The River Monster defense was dominating led by a defensive Line that accounted for 6 Sacks, led By Luke Scarborough with 3 and D'arrell Brown, Santino Turnbow and Rico Middlebrooks accounting for 1 sack each. The River Monster secondary recorded 5 interceptions, bringing their total to a league leading total of 22 on the season. Ahmona Maxwell and Newcomer Jeff Ward got 2 each and Dekota Marshall added 1. David James played one half and had 6 Tackles and 3 Pass Break ups.

The River Monsters next Game will be April 19th. Faith and Community night at the Bank of Kentucky Center when the Monsters will host the 6-2 Chicago Blitz led by former Illinois standout QB Juice Williams. Mascots from numinous local pro, college and high schools will make an appearance along with current Florence Freedom ball players, current and former Bengal players, and local high school football teams. As we want to pack the stands we will be giving any group of 10 or more people $3 off ticket prices.
