Marlies Clinch Division Title for Third Straight Season

With a 3-2 victory this afternoon over the Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, the Toronto Marlies have clinched their third consecutive Sam Pollock Trophy as North Division champions. The Marlies become just the sixth team in AHL history to win three straight division titles.

The Marlies currently sit third in the AHL's Western Conference with 90 points and own a record of 42-22-2-4. Over their past 10 games the Marlies have posted a record of 6-3-0-1. With just six games remaining on their schedule, Toronto trails the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, by seven points for first place overall in the Conference.

Toronto Marlies Calder Cup Playoff tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825) or by visiting marlies.ca. First round playoff dates and opponent will be announced at the conclusion of the AHL regular season.

The Marlies return to the ice on Friday, April 11 when they travel to upstate New York for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.
