Buffalo, NY - A strong fourth quarter led the Calgary Roughnecks to a 16-13 come-from-behind win over the Buffalo Bandits Saturday evening at the First Niagara Center. Now 10-5 on the season with four consecutive wins, the Roughnecks have clinched home turf advantage in the first round of the 2014 NLL Playoffs.
The Roughnecks scored a season-high seven goals in the final 15 minutes, with Curtis Dickson and Dane Dobbie each netting a pair of goals while Curtis Manning, Geoff Snider and Jon Harnett added singles. Dobbie, who finished the game with four goals and one assist, now leads with team with a career-high 45 goals. Shawn Evans had a seven-point performance (2g, 5a), while Daryl Veltman (2), Karsen Leung, Greg Harnett and Garrett McIntosh contributed with goals for Calgary.
Ryan Benesch paced Buffalo's scoring attack with six points (2g, 4a), while the Bandits received goals from eight other players including former Roughneck Joe Resetarits who scored twice and set up two others in the setback.
Calgary goaltenders Mike Poulin and Frankie Scigliano combined for 42 saves in the road win, while Anthony Cosmo turned aside 35 shots for the Bandits.
The Roughnecks now return to the Scotiabank Saddledome to host the provincial rival Edmonton Rush on Saturday, Apr. 12 at 7:00 p.m. Individual game tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office.
