Johan Sundstrom Returned to Sound Tigers

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (April 5, 2014) - The New York Islanders announced today that forward Johan Sundstrom has been returned on loan to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL).

Sundstrom, 21, was recalled by the Islanders on March 13. He tallied his first career NHL assist on March 23 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He appeared in nine games for the Islanders in his first NHL stint. With the Sound Tigers this season, Sundstrom has 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 38 games. He also had 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) in 59 games in 2012-13, his first as a professional in North America. The Gothenberg, Sweden, native was drafted by the Islanders in the second round (50th overall) in 2011.
