EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville IceMen began the week by extending their point streak to three games, but finished the weekend having lost two games in a row to Orlando.
The IceMen hit the road to finish the 2013-14 season. Evansville played three games in Florida to start the eight game road trip that extends over three weeks.
3/26 - Wednesday night, the IceMen battled the Everblades of Florida. Both teams entered outside the Eastern Conference top eight. Both teams surrendered two goal leads; the IceMen in the second period and the Everblades in the third. Evansville was powered by Alex Aleardi and his first professional hat trick. Aleardi tied the game at five with just under two minutes remaining. The IceMen lost in overtime 6 - 5.
3/27 - Evansville traveled to Orlando to play the Solar Bears on Thursday evening. Daultan Leveille scored with 1 second remaining in the first period, cutting the Solar Bear lead to 2 - 1. ECHL leading scorer Mickey Lang torched the IceMen in the second period, notching the hat trick with three second period goals. Evansville battled back in the third cutting the lead to 5 - 3 with a power play goal by Tristan King and Leveille's second of the game. Evansville fell, however, 5 - 3.
3/29 - Saturday night the IceMen looked to tie the season series against the Solar Bears. Evansville and Orlando were tied 1 - 1 after the first period. Evansville built a 4 - 2 lead in the second period with goals from Thomas Larkin, Daultan Leveille and Kellan Tochkin. After an Orlando goalie change, the Solar Bears tied it at four by the end of the period. Mike Clemente saved two penalty shots in the game (including league leading goal scorer Mickey Lang), but the IceMen faltered, 5 - 4.
