Rogues Expand Broadcast Package

April 1, 2014 - West Coast League (WCL)
Medford Rogues News Release

MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues today announced additions to the 2014 media staff and broadcast package as well as an extension of the team's broadcast agreement with Radio Medford. The Rogues are very excited to be bringing Radio Medford back for a second year, partnering with the Rogues to broadcast all home and road games. In addition, the Rogues will work with Radio Medford to add live streaming for computer and smart phone technology, tying in with the Rogues' free mobile application.

With the extension on the partnership, the Rogues are pleased to announce the return of the Voice of the Rogues, Bill Jacobs. Joining Jacobs on the Rogues broadcast staff is Max Milander. Max will be heading down the I-5 from McMinnville, Oregon, following his May graduation from Linfield College.

Bill and Max will share the broadcasting duties for the 2014 summer season. Currently, Max is the Sports Broadcaster at KSLC 90.3 FM, Linfield College. His duties include broadcasting soccer, football, baseball and basketball games at Linfield, serving as lead play-by-play announcer for basketball and men's soccer games. Max graduates from Linfield College on May 30 with a major in Mass Communications and minor in music. Along with accumulating a 4.0 GPA, Max has also made the Linfield College Dean's List in the spring 2011, spring 2012, fall 2012, and spring 2013 semesters. In 2012-2013, Max was a radio intern at Portland's KFXX 1080 AM "The Fan.". During his time with "The Fan" he edited and created promos for sports talk shows, edited audio clips of press conferences.

The Rogues are also proud to partner with the Table Rock Sports Network to provide live Internet television broadcasts on three dates; Opening Night, May 31; Thursday, July 3; and Saturday, August 8, which is Rogue Credit Union Night with Rogues mascot Rowdy bobble heads to the first 1,000 fans. TRSN provides professional, high-definition Internet television broadcasts and archiving of games for later use. The network currently broadcasts high school sports throughout Southern Oregon and provided full coverage of last month's Oregon High School basketball playoffs. TRSN will also broadcast a number of high school games from Harry & David Field this spring.

"This package represents a huge upgrade in our outreach and media availability to our fans," Rogues General Manager Chuck Heeman said. "Max Milander is a great addition to the team and will be able to keep our broadcasts professional and consistent, especially when Bill isn't able to make some of the games. Radio Medford has made a major investment in upgrading their capability to provide live streaming of our games. The ability to listen to Rogues games anywhere in the world is a great step for our fans, our players' families and coaches. Working with Table Rock as they build their own brand is a new thing for us and we look forward to quality video broadcasts. This is the first step and I'm sure we'll expand that aspect as the summer moves forward."
