Clarke Nets ECHL Player of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN --- The ECHL announced Tuesday that Komet skater Aaron Clarke has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for the period of March 24-30.

Clarke, 31, began the week with a four-point affair at South Carolina Friday scoring two goals and adding a pair of assists for his first four-point game of the season. Clarke followed Friday's performance scoring a short-handed tally and dishing an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss Saturday at South Carolina as the Komets completed the week posting three points and improving to 31-23-12 and 74 points to hold the eighth seed in the tight race for playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.

Clarke totaled three goals and three assists for a six-point week and enters week 25 of 2013-14 riding a three-game goal and assist streak (4g, 4a). Since joining the Komets March 13 after stints this season with Kalamazoo and Toledo, the Peterborough, Ontario native has points in seven of nine games scoring six goals and 14 points.

Clarke started the season registering four goals and nine points in 25 games with Kalamazoo before scoring 13 goals and 19 points in 26 games with Toledo. After 60 ECHL games this season, the seventh-year veteran has registered 23 goals, 19 assists and 42 points overall for the year.

Komets to skate four games in five nights this week-- The Komets start this busy week hosting Cincinnati Wednesday ngiht at 7:00 before skating at Toledo Friday at 7:15pm. Saturday the Komets return home to host Cincinnati at 7:30pm before welcoming Toledo to the Memorial Coliseum Sunday at 5pm. After this week, the Komets conclude the regular season slate with two home games starting Friday, April 11 against Evansville at 8pm. Saturday, April 12 the Walleye return from Toledo for the season finale at the Memorial Coliseum at 7:30pm.

BUS STUFF FOR COMMUNITY HARVEST FOOD BANK-- The annual campusLink Bus Stuff to benefit Community Harvest Food Bank will take place again this year during Komet home games this week Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Komet fans can save $2.00 off their upper arena game ticket with a food donation at each game. The Komets ask that fans bring canned or packaged food for donation. The goal is to donate enough food to fill a campusLink bus to benefit hungry families served by the Community Harvest Food Bank. Additional contributions can be made by stuffing the CitiLink/CampusLink buses at IPFW, Ivy Tech and Community Harvest locations.

Season Ticket Exchange Night Sunday-- Season Ticket Holders can exchange unused season tickets from previous 2013-14 home games for tickets to this Sunday's game against Toledo. Tickets can be exchanged at the Coliseum Ticket Office.
