Lions Fan Fest Cancelled

April 1, 2014 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Columbus Lions News Release

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus Lions of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) regretfully announce that Fan Fest, originally scheduled for this Thursday, April 3, has been cancelled. The Lions apologize for any possible inconvenience and regret they will not have a chance for fans to interact with players and the Lady Lions dance team prior to the first home game this Saturday, April 5.

"Even though Fan Fest is being cancelled, we are thrilled with the reason for the cancellation," said Lions co-owner Skip Seda. "The Cottonmouths [hockey team is] in the second round of the SPHL playoffs! We are looking forward to giving Columbus home football playoffs in the beginning of July, and we are rooting for the Cottonmouths to bring home what we hope are two championships for the city of Columbus this year. The collective team of the Columbus Lions, the Columbus Cottonmouths, and the Columbus Civic Center work together and always try and do what is best for all our collective fans."

"The Lions organization is committed to the sports fans of Columbus and all of our local sporting events.  The rescheduling of our Fan Fest event will allow all Columbus sports fans to share in both the Cottonmouths playoff game and the Fan Fest, which will be held at a later date.  Go Snakes and Roar Lions!" added co-owner Duke Liberatore.

Even though there will not be an opportunity to meet the players and Lady Lions prior to the home opener, fans are reminded that the playing field is accessible after each home game where you can meet Lions players and Lady Lions dancers.

We hope you can join us this Saturday for our 100th franchise game as we open the 2014 home schedule against the Richmond Raiders. Game time is 7 PM EDT with doors opening at 6 PM. Plenty of good seats for the game are still available! For more information about Saturday's game or how you can be a part of exciting Columbus Lions football, call the Lions office at 706.322.3336.
