MARION, OH - In addition to the significant signings of AFL 2 veteran quarterback Chris Wallace and veteran defensive lineman Mike Cross, the Blue Racers have now added two more veteran players to the roster. The additions include OL/DL Will Haase who is 6'-3" and 290 lbs and DL/LB Gaines Burnett who is 6'1" 235 lbs. Haase played for the Blue Racers during the 2013 season, and in his first year as a professional player, was selected for the All-CIFL First Team as a center. He is a two way player and will help to solidify the defensive line core and will also add to MBR's strong protection on the offensive line. Gaines Burnett has played for MBR during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, accounting for 2 tackles for loss last year.
While the Blue Racers appreciate the talent of Haase and Burnett on the field, their great willingness to participate in community events in Marion is something that Head Coach and GM LaMonte Coleman appreciates as well. "Gaines and Will both understand that this team is about Community, Family, and Football in that order. They have attended fairs, festivals, and meet and greets in Marion and I am confident that they will represent us well not only on the field, but in the community which is most important." Join us to watch our new additions perform on the road in Dayton at Hara Arena this Saturday, April 5th as we take on the Dayton Sharks at 7:30pm.
