Energy Fall to Canton 108-101

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Energy fell to the Canton Charge on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena 108-101.

The Energy jumped out early, leading by as much as 10 points behind Washington Wizards assignee Glen Rice Jr.'s 12 points. The Charge cut the lead to just 2, 30-28, at the end of the first quarter.

Canton took over in the second quarter, holding the Energy to just 25 points. Canton's Olek Czyz had 8 of his 14 points in the quarter to help give the Charge the 62-55 halftime lead.

Shane Edwards led the way for the Charge in the third quarter, scoring 10 of his game high 23 points. Canton led 84-78 heading into the final quarter.

The Energy made a run, behind two Austin Freeman three pointers with under a minute to play, but the lead was too much and Canton took home the 108-101. The Charge improve to 28-19 on the year as the Energy fall to 28-18.

Shane Edwards led the Charge, with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Kyrylo Fesenko added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Antoine Agudio finished the night with 15 points and Czyz added 14 off the bench.

The Energy were led by Curtis Stinson, as he finished the night with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Rice Jr. added 16 points. Jeffers had 14 points and 9 rebounds.

The two teams will play again tomorrow at 4 PM. The first 500 kids will receive an Othyus Jeffers youth jersey presented by Dahl's.
