Austin, TX March 27, 2014- The Austin Toros fell to the Iowa Energy 105-123 Thursday evening at Cedar Park Center.
The Austin Toros were paced by Carldell 'Squeaky' Johnson with 17 points and four assists off the bench. Six Toros scored in double-digits in the loss.
The Iowa Energy gained an early lead in the first quarter shooting 66.7% from the field to outscore the Toros 37-24. Augustus Gilchrist of the Energy made 6-7 field goal attempts in the second quarter, scoring 13 points and helping Iowa take a 73-47 lead into the half. The Energy continued to build on their lead in the second half securing their second road-trip win.
The Energy's Augustus Gilchrist (29) and Austin Freeman (19) led the team in scoring off the bench. Curtis Stinson tallied a triple-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Both teams play again on March 29, the Toros (17-29) at Tulsa and the Energy (28-17) at home against the Canton Charge.
