Minnesota Swarm News Release

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm are excited to partner with Coors Light to host the most refreshing race ever to come to Minnesota. Registration for the Swarm Half-K presented by Coors Light closes on March 28, and limited spots remain for the April 12 event, which will benefit the Hive Cares initiative and the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund. Participants must be at least 21 years of age and can register by visiting mnswarm.com/halfk.

The participating "racers" will navigate their way through well-known West 7th Street establishments such as Burger Moe's, The Liffey Irish Pub, Patrick McGovern's Pub and Restaurant and Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub, all prior to the Swarm's 7 p.m. CT matchup against the Buffalo Bandits at Xcel Energy Center.

"Every season the Hive Cares game is one that gets a lot of attention," said Matt McCormack, the Swarm's Director of Brand Marketing. "This year with the addition of the Half-K "Race" the event is heading in a whole new direction. The support of Coors Light, Burger Moe's, Tom Reid's, McGovern's and The Liffey have been tremendous and we are excited to see how much this event can help the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund in their support of Minnesota's cancer community."

For only $39, fans will receive a game ticket, a commemorative t-shirt and a complementary ice cold Coors Light at each of the designated stops during "St. Paul's Shortest Race". There is an additional registration option for those who already have a ticket for the game available for $28.

"This is a great opportunity for Swarm fans to visit some of St. Paul's top bars and restaurants," said Coors Light representative Brittany Dicus. "Coors Light is thrilled to partner with the Minnesota Swarm for St. Paul's Shortest Race and is excited to sponsor a refreshing event that supports cancer research and local businesses."

The Half-K is in conjunction with the Swarm's fourth-annual Hive Cares Night, which benefits the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund (RSCRCF). The RSCRCF supports the cancer community in Minnesota by funding research, prevention, treatment and other programs. Through the Hive Cares initiative the Swarm have raised over $54,000 for the RSCRCF, making them one of the organizations top partners.

The Swarm will be wearing special edition jerseys for the April 12 game, which will be available for purchase by the public via online auction, with the proceeds going toward Hive Cares. For more information visit mnswarm.com/hivecares.

A Minnesota Swarm game is something that has to be experienced live to be fully understood. Fans can get that experience in The Hive for as low as $22 for a lower-level seat.
