March 21, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

A tough second period would be the difference as the Niagara IceDogs fell to the North Bay Battalion 4-0 in North Bay in game one of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal.

The first period would see North Bay outshoot the IceDogs 12-5, but Brent Moran would be on his game early, stopping all 12 shots to keep things scoreless through one.

Things would not be as kind for the IceDogs in the second as North Bay would open the scoring at the 4:11 mark of the period to take a 1-0 lead. The lead would become two just 29 seconds later as North Bay would make it 2-0. Before the end of the period, North Bay would add two more, one of which was shorthanded, to put the IceDogs behind 4-0 after 40 minutes. Shots after two continued to favour the home side 21-18.

In the final period, the IceDogs would battle looking to get on the board and would have a couple of near misses, but North Bay would shut things down and keep the IceDogs off the board to make it a 4-0 final. With the win, North Bay takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Final shots were 28-27 IceDogs.

The IceDogs will now have a day off to regroup before looking to bounce back in an important game two on Sunday afternoon in North Bay. The IceDogs will then return home to host games 3 and 4 next Tuesday and Thursday at the Jack. Tickets for both these games are still available and can be purchased at any IceDogs ticketing location. Don't miss out on the final OHL playoff run in the history of the Jack, get your tickets today and come and and support your 'Dogs next week!
