Kingston Frontenacs News Release
Kingston--In a special pregame ceremony before game 1 of the OHL Eastern Conference Quarter Final Playoff series this Friday, the Kingston Frontenacs will honour Kingston native Jayna Hefford at centre ice. Hefford, a five time member of Canada's Olympic Women's Hockey Team, has four Olympic Gold and 1 Olympic Silver Medals, and seven IIHF World Women's Hockey Championship Gold Medals.
"Jayna has made every Kingstonian--and Canadian--proud of her achievements on the ice," said Justin Chenier, Executive Director of Business Operations. "She's also an amazing ambassador off the ice with her work in raising awareness for the Canadian Hockey Association's Initiation Program and her fundraising efforts for cancer palliative care through Kingston University Hospitals Foundation. Jayna is a hero in everything she does, and the Kingston Frontenacs are honoured to have the opportunity to pay tribute to one of this city's most accomplished hockey players."
Friday's puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. Tickets are available from the Rogers K-Rock Centre Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.
