Curtain Call: Brace Named OHL Player of the Week

March 17, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Belleville Bulls News Release

TORONTO, ON - The season couldn't have ended better for Cameron Brace. Coming to Belleville in a late October trade with the Owen Sound Attack, Brace lived up to the hype in his final 42 games of the season, scoring 27 goals and adding 19 assists as a Bull.

Brace was named the OHL Player of the Week on Monday to cap off what was an accomplished five year tenure in the league, one that included an OHL Championship in 2011. Brace scored six goals and two assists in his final three games with a +7 rating to earn the weekly honour.

A 20 year-old from Markham, Brace played in 265 career OHL games, compiling 106 goals and 100 assists.

"I'll always appreciate the opportunity that Coach Burnett and the Bulls organization gave me to come here and be a key guy while influencing younger players," he said. "Five years flies by. I've had some great memories and formed some close friendships playing in the Ontario Hockey League."

Brace joins overagers Scott Simmonds and Jake Worrad as Bulls graduating from the program. He had points in 13 of his final 18 games this season.
