Calgary, AB - In front of 14,070 fans, the Calgary Hitmen closed out the 2013-14 Western Hockey League regular season with 6-3 victory over the Kootenay Ice Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Greg Chase led the Hitmen with a four-point effort, scoring two goals and adding a pair of assists along with a plus-5 rating. Mike Winther (1g, 2a) and Pavel Padakin (1g, 2a) both recorded three points each for Calgary, while Jake Virtanen and Ben Thomas also scored in the win.
Chris Driedger made 29 saves for Calgary who finished the season with a 48-17-3-4 record.
Luke Philp, Austin Vetterl and Jaedon Descheneau scored for the visiting Ice.
Calgary and Kootenay will face each other in the first round of the 2014 WHL Playoffs.
