Eagles Continue Playoff Push as They Travel to Port Huron

Fresh off a sweep of the second place Michigan Warriors, the Soo Eagles continue their playoff push this weekend, as they face the first place Port Huron Fighting Falcons, Saturday at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday at 4:00 p.m. You can catch all the action on www.fasthockey.com.

The Eagles are in fifth place in the North American Hockey League's North Division, with 53 points. They are two points out of a playoff position, and behind fourth place Janesville. Port Huron maintains their hold on first place, with 68 points and have clinched a playoff position.

The Eagles are led in scoring by Mike Sabatini, who has 15 goals and 19 assists this season. Sandis Zolmanis has 9 goals and 17 assists, while Scot Cuthrell is (11-13- 24). The Falcons are led in scoring Bryan Yim, who has 16 goals and 26 assists this season. Zach Badalamenti has 13 goals and 27 assists, while Jonathan Kopacka is (11-21- 31).

Soo Eagles goaltender Paige Skoog is 7-8-0-1 this season, with a goals against average of 2.62 and a save percentage of .926. Nathan Klebe is 6-5-0-0 on the campaign, with a GAA of 2.77 and a SV% of .918.

Port Huron goaltender Alex Blankenburg is 16-4-0-1 this season, with a goals against average of 1.97 and a save percentage of .933. Max Milosek is 14-10-2-5 on the campaign with a GAA of 2.52 and a SV% of .917.

These teams have met ten times this season, with the Falcons winning six of those contests. This has been a tightly contested season series, as five of the ten games have gone to overtime, with four of those decided by a shootout, and seven of the games decided by one goal.
