FIRESTOCK Pyro Event Announced for Central PA

March 12, 2014 - Atlantic League (AtL)
York Revolution News Release

(York, PA): Yes, it's fireworks. Yes, it's taking place at Santander Stadium. And NO, FIRESTOCK is NOT your typical fireworks event. In fact, it's not your typical anything.

This fireworks and pyro event is exclusive to Santander Stadium, and will be a one of a kind event for all of Central Pennsylvania taking place on Saturday, May 31, 2014 beginning at 5 p.m.

In addition to the final in-stadium fireworks display after nightfall, the event will include a daylight color smoke bomb display (6 p.m.), a sunset fireworks show (7:45 p.m.), live music throughout and sideshow fire stunts including fire jump roping, fire breathing, fire eating and a guy balancing a lit hibachi grill on his face. Yes, on his face.

The FIRESTOCK finale at 9 p.m. will be a roughly 15 minute display, set up on the field at Santander Stadium for maximum effect and will be the largest fireworks show in stadium history. According to FIRESTOCK organizers, led by the Pyrotecnico company, it will be roughly 6.3 times the size of a typical post-game York Revolution fireworks show.

In addition to awe-inspiring, the event is also family friendly. The rest of the evening's lineup includes: Helicopter rides for a bird's eye view of the action, temporary tattoo artists (and some permanent tattooing for some older patrons), an open carnival- style "arcade" in the stadium featuring SkeeBall, hammer swing, a basketball game, racing video games and Dance, Dance Revolution. The DownTown Playground will be open for FIRESTOCK as well, which includes the carousel, giant inflatable slide and the obstacle course.

"Pyrotechnic events get us all excited." said Adam Nugent, York Revolution Special Events Coordinator. "From local celebrations to Super Bowl halftime shows, our hearts pump faster when the sparks fly and the ground shakes beneath us. So we asked ourselves 'how can we capture that feeling for an enti re night?'" continued Nugent. "The answer is FIRESTOCK - an event where we do everything short of blowing the gates off of Santander Stadium... three never- before-seen fireworks displays, pyro performers, live music, welding art, games, rides, food, family, friends and fire shows."

Children six and under will be admitted FREE. Students 18 and under are just $12 (student ID may be required to verify.) All other tickets are $20. A $55 discount family pack is also available, which includes two adult tickets and up to four 18 and under tickets. Full concessions will be available, including beer.
