Hitmen Keep Pace with 5-3 Victory

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-3 Tuesday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Hitmen received goals from Kenton Helgesen, Alex Roach, Travis Sanheim, Adam Tambellini and Jake Virtanen. Tambellini added an assist to finish the night with two points, while Brady Brassart had a three-assist effort. Greg Chase chipped in with a pair of helpers for Calgary.

Riley Sheen, with a pair of goals, and Tyler Wong, with a single tally, scored for the visiting Hurricanes.

Chris Driedger made 24 saves to record the win as the Hitmen improve to 46-17-3-4.

Calgary and Edmonton remain in a battle for first place in the Eastern Conference, with both clubs at 99 points. The Oil Kings have three games left in the regular season, while the Hitmen will wrap up the 2013-14 campaign with a home-and-home series against the Kootenay Ice.

On Friday, March 14, Calgary will travel to Cranbrook, before hosting Kootenay on Saturday, March 15 for Fan Appreciation Night and the Distress Centre Awareness game in support of ConnecTeen. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Due to construction and events taking place on and around Stampede Park, fans are encouraged arrive early or to use public transportation in order to avoid parking delays.
