SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Led by Matt Harrington's goal midway through the third period, the Mississippi RiverKings (28-20-4) took a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths (25-23-3) on Tuesday night at the Landers Center.

The RiverKings jumped out for two goals in the first period. Todd Hosmer's breakaway goal shorthanded put the RiverKings ahead 7:11 into the period. Then, at the 16:41 mark, Sean Jones deflected a Mike Hayward shot from the blueline past Andrew Loewen to put the RiverKings up 2-0 going into the first intermission.

Columbus cut their deficit down in the second. Sam Bowles let a slap shot rip from the face off circle past the glove of Matt Krahn on the power play to push the score to 2-1 going into the third.

In the third, Jordan Draper tied the game at two 6:39 into the period on a rebound between the legs of Krahn. But the RiverKings responded three minutes later. Matt Harrington lasered a wrist shot off the crossbar and to the back of the net to give the RiverKings a 3-2 victory in the team's finale against Columbus.

Matt Krahn (15-10-3) tallied the win after stopping 20 of 22 shots against. Andrew Loewen (19-14-1) stopped 22 of 25 shots against in the loss.
