Full Slate of Activities Set as BayHawks & LECOM "Salute Our Troops" on Sunday

March 4, 2014 - NBA G League (G League) - Erie BayHawks News Release


Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, March 4 - The Erie BayHawks and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) will honor service men and women during the team's game on Sunday, March 9 with the third annual "Salute Our Troops" game. The special uniforms the BayHawks will wear are part of several special initiatives that LECOM and the BayHawks have planned to honor military personnel.

Other activities for the day include:

- The BayHawks will wear commemorative patriotic uniforms for the 2pm game and the uniforms will be auctioned during the game with proceeds benefiting Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors;

- Current and retired military personnel receive free tickets to the game when they show their military ID or DD214 card at the Erie Insurance Arena box office;

- Civil Air Patrol Color Guard will present the colors;

- POW / MIA Remembrance Table to honor fallen soldiers;

- Service men and women will be recognized pre-game during a video tribute honoring all five branches of the military;

- Presentation of a large American Flag during the National Anthem;

- United States Air Force "Oath of Enlistment" ceremony at halftime;

- BayHawks players thank service men and women in special video tribute;

- The LECOM Coffee Culture Cafe located at 5761 Peach Street, is offering a free cup of coffee to all military personnel and veterans with proper identification on Monday, March 10.
