Charge Acquire Brandon Paul

The Canton Charge have acquired guard Brandon Paul (6'4", 200, Illinois) from the available player pool, the team announced today. The Charge roster now stands at 10.

Paul, 22, most recently was with Nizkny Novgorod of the Russian Pro Basketball League, playing in 12 games and averaging 6.4 points on .417 shooting with 2.7 rebounds and 0.5 steals in 13.8 minutes per game. He also played in NBA Summer League with the Minnesota Timberwolves after enjoying a four-year career at the University of Illinois (2009-13).

In 138 career collegiate games for Fighting Illini (89 starts), he averaged 12.0 points with 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.2 steals in 26.6 minutes per game. He was third-team All-Big Ten and third in the conference in scoring during his senior campaign (2012-13) where he played in 36 games (35 starts) and averaged 16.6 points with 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.0 minutes per game.
